   Gustavo A. Perez-Abadia, M.D., EndoProtech

Gustavo Perez-Abadia, M.D. is co-founder, vice president and treasurer of EndoProtech, a company developing and commercializing unique therapies for the prevention of complications in the fields of organ transplantation and invasive cardiovascular surgery.

Dr. Perez-Abadia is an assistant professor of physiology and biophysics at the University of Louisville, where he also serves as director of the microsurgical techniques course which trains residents and fellows in plastic, orthopedic, obstetric and general surgery. His research interests include the development of a direct cellular energy delivery system and new anti-complement therapy to reduce reperfusion injury.

Dr. Perez-Abadia received his M.D. from the National University of Tucuman in Tucuman Argentina, and completed residency and fellowship training in pediatric surgery at St. Trinity Children's Hospital and Private Center of Pediatric Urology in Cordoba, Argentina. He completed surgical research fellowships at the University of Louisville in urology and plastic and reconstructive surgery, before joining the faculty in 2005.
