Portfolio - PGxl Laboratories, LLC

Incorporated:    February 2004

Contacts:    Roland Valdes, Jr., Ph.D., Founder and President

Description:    PGxl Laboratories, the first CLIA-certified lab of its kind, provides DNA testing for patient sensitivity to a broad range of common drugs, thereby reducing risky and costly adverse drug reactions (ADRs).

Because it is DNA-based, each PGxl test provides information that is applicable throughout a patient's life. PGX testing is already being recommended by the FDA before the prescription of certain drugs.

PGxl has an operating lab in MedCenter 3 and is generating revenue. The company is exploring additional funding sources to expand operations and marketing efforts.
